This is the début vintage for the Chardonnay under the Danais brand. It is a blend of two very special Napa Valley Chardonnay vineyards. The grapes are gently whole cluster pressed and settled for 2 days, then barrel fermented in French oak barrels, 25% of which are new. The lees are stirred once a week for the first six months to build richness and depth.
Aromas of citrus mingle with tropical fruit on the nose. The mouthfeel is silky-smooth with bright layers of lime, green apple, and underlying flavors of toasted oak. It finishes clean with lingering citrus and vanilla.
